| "17 So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. 18 I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. 19 And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have control over all the work into which I have poured my effort and skill under the sun. This too is meaningless." -Ecclesiastes 2:17-19
"23 This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, 24 but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD." -Jeremiah 9:23-24
Isn't it funny how throughout all time, this still holds true? People think life's purpose is to accumulate treasures, materials, fame, wealth, and power. But what does that leave us with when our stay on earth is over? We work so hard for what we must leave behind. Doesn't it make more logical sense to work harder for what we can actually take with us?
Just a snack for thought, like this!
